Troubleshooting iPhone 8 Water Damage

There are a few things you can do before bringing your device to a professional repair team. Below are some do’s and don’ts for troubleshooting a liquid-damaged iPhone 8:

If your iPhone 8 has experienced water damage, do:

  • Remove the case, Nano SIM card, and anything else that might be plugged into the device.
  • Dry gently with an absorbent towel.

If your iPhone 8 has experienced water damage, don’t:

  • Don’t push any buttons! This could force water further into the circuits.
  • Don’t use a hairdryer on the iPhone. This could also push water into the phone and cause further damage.
  • Don’t turn the iPhone 8 on too soon. It is best to wait 24 hours before attempting to turn your phone back on.

Great place and awesome staff. Had my battery replaced in my phone almost a year ago and the gentleman, Jonathan, did it right then. Went back just recently because I was having issues again and a different gentleman, Jeff, helped me. Determined my processor in my phone is most likely the issue this time, so I settled for purchasing a used, upgraded Samsung. Haven't picked it up yet but he said they would be happy to transfer all my info from one phone to another for me. Can't beat that since my phone carrier didn't want to give me the time of day when I went to visit them about getting a different phone. I guess, their loss and CPR's gain. Both people spent time with me at both visits going over things on my phone and trying to help me. I appreciate that so much. Hard to find businesses nowadays that are there for customer service. Thanks CPR!!
